Wedding
Alex & Ian wedded at Alex parent's property at Glanmire, and boy was it an amazing setup for a DIY wedding! Since Ian is kiwi and a lot of their guests would be travelling over from New Zealand, their wedding weekend was complete with ample space for guests to camp at the property over the long weekend celebrations. Also included was a stretch tent set up for reception, a food truck connected to a generator, fairy lights connecting the areas, fire pits, composting toilets and solar heated showers (which they setup themselves!)
Of their chosen space to marry, Alex said "Ian and I have a connection to this place and together we have planted about 150 trees over the years to try to rehabilitate different areas and improve the biodiversity. We will encourage our friends and family to stay for at least 2 nights, the day after we will have a communal cook up, maybe an AUS vs NZ games tournament and instead of gifts we will ask each guest to plant a tree". I'm a big fan of weddings where the couple elects to do things their way, and it really does pay off in making the celebration unique to you.
